IT DESKTOP Support Administrator

As Desktop Support Administrator, You will be responsible for providing first-line technical support to computer users experiencing difficulties with computer hardware, applications, and communications software. You'll be the face of IT at a site level while you:

  • Provide hardware and software support on employee systems (troubleshooting, email, network, software and peripheral equipment problems)

  • Install and operate a variety of software programs and to patch, upgrade or otherwise maintain existing software programs

  • Provide problems solving services to site level network users in an efficient and timely manner

  • Maintain backup procedures and logs as per company and client standards

  • Complete workstation configuration and maintenance

  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions and access rights to company resources

  • Responsible for moves, adds and changes to hardware and software as requested via our online ticketing system

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedure manuals and apply information provided within

  • Assist with projects and other duties as requested or assigned by leadership

You are a self-motivated individual who loves change and adapts easily to evolving expectations and mandates. You are the type of person people can rely on as you are always on time for work and ready to roll up your sleeves and work when it's required. You are known for having excellent communication skills and can easily understand and express needs.

  • Solid background in desktop hardware and software support

  • Accredited IT related course would be an asset

  • Proven track record of expertise in Microsoft Outlook, Windows 2003, and XP.

  • Deep understanding of networking infrastructure (LAN, WAN and VPN)

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strict attention to detail

  • Mature and independent worker

  • Customer service oriented

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts or additional hours as instructed by business needs

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a rapidly changing environment
