Director of IT and Infrastructure

Position Title: IT Infrastructure Manager Location: Hamilton, ON

The Role & Responsibilities:

S&P Data is currently looking for an IT Infrastructure Director to oversee a quality team of dedicated resources responsible for the day to day operations, from desktop to data centre. This position will afford the opportunity for travel across the border to our various sites across North America.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all enterprise datacenter operations to ensure highest possible up time
  • Responsible for establishing standard hardware lifecycle methodologies
  • Responsible for desk-top applications support to ensure it aligns with business processes, tactical planning, and strategic vision
  • Review performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements
  • Review and extend process in place to ensure compliance relating to PCI and other similar standards
  • Oversee provision of end-user services, including software/software support services
  • Hiring and professional development of the team, with a focus on quality driven development capabilities and best practices
  • Monitors team performance, establishes plans for improvement when necessary, conduct reviews in conjunction with management
  • Responds to occasional system errors, including during off hour and coordinates response amongst the team
  • Take part in planning of facility expansion and growth projects

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of experience in enterprise level infrastructure
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant (IT related) management role
  • Excellent understanding of networking, telephony and Microsoft software licensing policies
  • Used to a demanding work schedule and comfortable interacting with and being accountable to Company Directors
  • Knowledge of Avaya (or similar) telephony systems
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  • Knowledge of Cisco (or similar) network products
