S&P Data is looking for an experienced data analyst and modeler to manager and execute on the day to day reporting and analysis tasks within our Business Intelligence department. The successful candidate will report to the Sr. Reporting Manager and will be expected to be able to communicate concisely, confidently and professionally with both clients and senior stakeholders.

 

Required Soft Skills:

  • Creative and Analytical Thinking: Above and beyond any other characteristic it will be critical for the successful candidate to be able to think critically about a given problem and develop creative solutions. There is no “Can’t” in the Business Intelligence department, and the best candidate will view this as an excellent opportunity to flex their creative muscles rather then an obstacle.
  • Effective Communication: The successful candidate will be required to communicate, sometimes difficult, messages to senior stakeholders within the organization and to clients. In order to be successful with this, the candidate will need to be comfortable and confident in the data they are presenting and know how to deliver a message that is both accurate and professional.
  • Integrity: It is exceptionally important that the successful candidate have a good track record of personal and professional integrity. They will be exposed to a lot of information in this position and there is an expectation that the candidate will continue the departments long standing legacy of being a source of truth for the organization.
  • Data Analysis: The successful candidate will not only be able to compile the necessary information but will have an understanding of the story that the data tells and be comfortable presenting and defending that narrative to senior stakeholders.

  

Required Hard Skills:

  • Power BI and the O365 Environment: As a Microsoft shop the candidate should be familiar with the MS suite of data tools including Power BI, Excel, Power Query, and Power Automate. In this role the candidate will be responsible for assisting in mapping out data models as well as building out front end dashboards.
    • Power BI: Intermediate
    • Excel: Advanced
    • DAX and M: Intermediate
    • Power Automate: Intermediate
  • Data Visualization: The successful candidate will have experience in visualizing data for consumption by frontline operators and for executive team members, ideally in a call center environment.
  • Data Warehousing: S&P Data utilizes a SQL database with a proprietary frontend for much of it’s internal data, this data is then blended with external agent data to produce meaningful dashboards for the organization. The successful candidate will have experience in blending multiple data sources into a single data warehouse and utilize Power Query to find and manage that data.

  • SQL: Intermediate

  • Tableau: Beginner
  • 6sigma: Green Belt+
